For one weekend in August, several hundred thousand revelers descend on the tiny village of Guča in Serbia for one of the largest free festivals in Europe. The Guča Festival is dedicated to all things trumpet, with professionals rubbing elbows with street performers. Every evening, the crowd gathers in the main square to witness competitions and to see who will be declared “the master of the trumpet”.
